So we will have a new blog up tomorrow! Featuring Christine Schisano who just helped me today with voice over work!
Check that out on the video blog side!
For now... TECH PROBLEMS!
Oye! This last month has been one painful tech process. Between my computer loosing 2 edited episodes that need to be re-edited now, the voice over audio that was lost randomly and my computer falling, creating a hole in my hard drive, this has been one Hell week for tech stuff!
Keep in mind that Episode 6 & 11 are missing now. Episode 6- Gossip and secrets is one of the biggest episodes. with 2 musical numbers, puppet action sequences and tons of special effects, its a huge process to go back and re-edit.
Episode 11, the other file that was lost, won't be as big of a feat but still, tons of fight scenes and special effects make them both tough.
In all the hustle and bustle of our new brooklyn apartment, we have a lot going on all the time. Through all the chaos, we hadn't had anything too major break...until the other day.
My computer, with all the episodes edited and ready to go. Just 3 days before the computer fell, Sean had suggested that I take the rough drafts of the episodes and export them. So, I did! Into an external hard drive... And if I hadn't I would have lost all my edited materials, as apposed to just 2. (Thanks babe!) Oye! That could have been a freaking disaster!
Everything comes is three's though, and today was no different.
We started to do voice overs in new york city with some amazing talent including: Christine Schisano, Leon Axt, Tobias Christian wong and whitney asante.
During the 1st session of voice overs, Leon's audio...1 1/2 of time, where he wen't through the whole season, and guess what? We go to do his interview and garage band tells me that it cant find his audio. I see the file, it shows audio clips, it shows audio spikes, and yet there is no sound. I export, then close it and Vwahla! Nope, it doesn't work. Everything goes blank. So there you have it! Now, we've got to do it all over again.... face in palm!
so the second session went bye much faster! 30 minutes but unfortunately we couldn't do his interview.
Leon was a great sport and I really appreciated his patience! (Thanks dude!) Needless to say, all the audio turned out great and I am thrilled to have people all over the world involved with this project! I've learned a great many things, and I hope as I write these blogs, if you are filmmaker you can learn from the failures and triumphs we've experienced.
